International Trailer: Django Unchained

The time for Django Unchained (the ‘D’ is silent) is fast approaching, so an international trailer has been dropped today by the Weinstein Company.

Django (Jamie Foxx) is a slave living in the Deep South after having been separated from his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington). When Django is held for a slave auction, Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz), a bounty hunter, frees Django from his vicious masters, the Speck brothers (James Remar and James Russo), and gives him the option of hunting down and killing the Brittle Brothers, a ruthless gang of killers whom only Django has seen. In return, Schultz will free Django from slavery completely and help rescue Broomhilda from the plantation of the charming but ruthless Francophile owner, Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). I wasn’t necessarily looking forward to Django, but it looks like it will be quite an entertaining film to see with all the other very serious material being shown in other Oscar contenders. Of course there’s the new Bond film Skyfall out this week, but Django will no doubt please the Tarantino fans, as well as the wider cinema-going audience. The music in the trailer is also typical Tarantino, circa the 90’s, which is when he was known for picking the funkiest tracks known to man. The soundtrack list can be found here on Spotify.
