WILL FERRELL’S SPANISH FILM – CASA DE MI PADRE

Will Ferrell will be taking on a challenging role in his first ever Spanish-language comedy film Casa de Mi Padre(My Father’s House), out next week in the US. With a UK release sometime in June. Will Ferrell teams up again with long time collaborator Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladaga Nights) to produce the film. Will Ferrell apparently had 1 month to learn Spanish for the telenovela themed film, staring alongside Mexican heavyweights Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna – Both made famous for their roles in 2001’s Y Tu Mamá También.

Armando Alvarez (Will Ferrell) has lived and worked on his father’s ranch in Mexico his entire life. As the ranch encounters financial difficulties, Armando’s younger brother Raul (Diego Luna), shows up with his new fiance, Sonia (Genesis Rodriguez). It seems that Raul’s success as an international businessman means the ranch’s troubles are over as he pledges to settle all debts his father has incurred. But when Armando falls for Sonia, and Raul’s business dealings turn out to be less than legit, all hell breaks loose as they find themselves in a war with Mexico’s most feared drug lord, the mighty Onza (Gael Garcia Bernal)

As a little taste of what to expect, the producers of the film, leaked this music video of Will Ferrell singing Yo No Se, earlier today.
